This is a detailed print of my drawing, "He Is There".
He was there.
When she stooped to fetch the scattered items on the floor,
Grateful was the keeper who thanked her evermore.
Warmly smiling, adieus exchanged, the two parted and went their way.
Broken, sorrowed, teary-eyed,
The girl found another distraught inside.
Yearning, hoping, to rekindle the smile,
She stopped and listened for a while.
As the mourner stood to go,
She thanked her for the ear she’d borrowed.
The day was yawning; the light was low.
The girl knew to her home she must go.
Mother, Mother, I had a day
Filled with excitement, I must say.
The mother stopped to listen to her child
Recount her day and the events all the while.
Service was the countenance sung
By the overjoyed little one.
Mother, mother, He was there.
Baffled, the mother stopped her there.
When and who?
You mean the person you bid adieu?
No mother, that wasn’t so.
I mean the Savior of the world, you know?
He was there as I helped them on their way, for on my shoulder His hand He did lay.
