Artist Statement
1/03/22 I was astonished to learn someone would use their Christmas Eve to break into a temple and vandalize such a beautiful and holy building.
As I have reflected upon this event, I have been humbled to realize the parallel between this sad story and our lives. Though such a holy building was desecrated and vandalized, the temple did not lose its value from this instance. I am sure the people of Logan, Utah, do not look upon the temple and think less of it for being marred. In fact, those in Logan did not turn away from the temple and see it as unholy, lost, and forsaken. Instead, the temple was repaired, reopened, and revisited. Similarly, when we lose some of our holiness, whether, by our own means or that of others, I hope we turn to the temple and know the Savior's Atonement can heal us and make us whole, just as the Logan temple was 💛.
