The Creator - 8x10" Print
This intricate piece of the Savior depicts Christ from the profile as though He were examining His work after completion of The First Day. The halo about His head is symbolic of the events that transpired during that day, in addition to the yellow-hued background.

Artist description of this piece:
In creating this piece, little did I realize each moment I spent drawing Christ & pondering on His life, I was also building my testimony & understanding of Him.
Creating this piece took me over one hundred hours to complete. I gave attention to each & every stroke I placed in portraying Christ. I drew every single hair on His head, every lash about His eye, & every crease of His face. I have no doubt Christ placed an even greater degree of meticulous effort as He created The First Day. I imagine He aligned each photon of light in its perfect spot - not because He was told to, but because He wanted to because He loves us & wanted to give us His best.
I imagine as Christ completed His work that day, He gazed upon His efforts weary & pleased. If I were there, I think I would find Him marveling at His work in a similar stance to this one: exhausted by the efforts, yet, excited by what it meant for each & every one of us. Progression. Growth. A time to “prove them herewith” (Abraham 3:35).
In studying The Creation, I often overlooked The First Day, imagining it was the easiest of the days to complete & viewing it as one of the least exciting; however, as I have labored over this piece, my understanding & adoration of that day has transformed. I now view The First Day as the gateway to my mortal life, my ability to gain a body, my gift of agency, & my gift to create – to create life & to create artwork.
Oh, what a glorious day this is to me!
