"Promised Blessing" Print
This is a detailed print of my original drawing, "Promised Blessing".
Artist Statement
I clearly remember the day I told Parker I’d understand if he didn’t want to marry me. We were recently engaged, and I’d just returned from the doctor. Through tears, I shared the devastating news that I might not be able to have children.
I told Parker I wouldn’t judge him if he chose not to marry me—I didn’t want him to regret his decision later. I’ll never forget how he held me and said he wanted to marry me, no matter what the future held.
This year, we welcomed a little baby girl into our home. The love and light she has brought into our lives is so unbelievably beautiful. This year, the nativity scene has a different meaning to me. This scene of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus mirrors some of my favorite memories of this year: becoming parents, meeting a new child, and getting a glimpse into heaven.
I pray this piece may take you to Bethlehem, to that Holy Stable, to that new family who welcomed Christ, our Savior, into their loving arms ♥️
